Postdoctoral Position in Statistics Education

About the role

The Department of Science Education at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for University Science Education invites applications for a three‑year postdoctoral position focused on university statistics education research. The role starts on 1 January 2027 (or as soon as possible) and is part of the Toolbox Courses in Data Science project, collaborating with partners at the University of Copenhagen, University of Aarhus and the University of Southern Denmark.

Key responsibilities

• Design and experiment didactical interventions that link statistical methods to authentic scientific questions in fields such as nanoscience or machine learning.
• Collect, analyse and interpret data from these interventions.
• Publish research findings in high‑quality international journals.
• Contribute actively to the local research environment and project meetings.
• Deliver teaching and dissemination activities accounting for roughly 20 % of the workload.

Required profile

• PhD in statistics, mathematics education, science education or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in statistics or data‑science education research.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple universities and disciplines.
• Willingness to spend significant time at the partner institution in Aarhus.
