Pharmacy Technician – Clinical PA Support

About the role

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide technical and administrative support to our Fee‑For‑Service Medicaid department. The role works closely with client teams, Clinical Account Executives, Clinical Specialists and Drug Information staff to manage pharmacy information, medication request guidelines and prior‑authorization processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain Prior Authorization (PA) guideline documents, including content management, coding and linking within online systems.
• Support the Clinical Program Manager and related staff in formatting, verifying and testing client Medication Request Guidelines and Medication Request Forms (MRFs).
• Communicate with clients to obtain approval of final documents and ensure timely distribution to appropriate departments.
• Manage the review and quality‑assurance process for medical exception and prior‑authorization guidelines before implementation.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert for MedImpact Prior Authorization program and respond to PA‑related inquiries from internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Associate degree (AA) or equivalent with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Current Pharmacy Technician license and/or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification without restriction.
• Ability to work independently, follow directions and collaborate with team members.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Windows‑based database applications.
• Strong attention to detail for document formatting and QA processes.
