Paralegal – Healthcare & Behavioral Health

About the role

The Paralegal provides advanced legal, regulatory, and administrative support to attorneys within a US‑based healthcare organization focused on behavioral health services. This position is essential for contract management, litigation support, compliance, and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and manage contracts, business associate agreements, provider agreements, real‑estate and corporate formation documents.
• Oversee the full contract lifecycle, including intake, redlining, execution tracking, and renewal monitoring.
• Support litigation activities such as e‑discovery, document review, production, and coordination with outside counsel.
• Manage legal hold processes, conduct audits, and ensure proper release procedures.
• Assist with regulatory compliance for HIPAA, HITECH, Medicare/Medicaid, and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CARF).
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis, and prepare memoranda and position statements.
• Collaborate with internal departments (operations, compliance, HR, finance) and external counsel.

Required profile

• Strong analytical capability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.
• Experience supporting attorneys in contract management, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
