Operator I – Production

About the role

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Operator I to join its manufacturing team. The role involves operating production equipment, ensuring product quality, and supporting 6S workplace standards on a shift basis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 6S activities before and after each shift.
• Follow operational specifications and SOPs for the assigned area.
• Hand‑shake line status with incoming shifts and maintain accurate certification badges.
• Ensure product quality, aiming for zero lot rejection.
• Deliver required output while meeting utilization and capacity targets.
• Escalate any line problems to the supervisor or lead operator.
• Set up and isolate stations, handling minor machine‑related issues.
• Record machine downtime, lot history, and any splitting or merging transactions in real time.
• Report absences promptly to the immediate supervisor.
• Participate in company suggestion programs and strictly follow all rules and regulations.
• Highlight any safety or output concerns during the shift.

Required profile

• Ability to follow SOPs and work within defined specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Willingness to work shift schedules and communicate line status effectively.
• Proactive attitude toward reporting issues and supporting continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Machine operation.
• Knowledge of 6S methodology.
• Use of production tracking systems for downtime and lot management.
• Understanding of SOP compliance.
