Operator 1 – Production

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking an Operator 1 to support production operations in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role ensures smooth lot movement, compliance with environmental and quality standards, and maintains a clean, organized workspace.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement the Environmental Management System (EMS), Quality Management System (QMS) and Electro‑Static Discharge (ESD) controls.
• Check documentation before endorsement and verify that instructions are clearly executed.
• Expedite lot movement from cage operation to line set‑up and monitor production downtime for “waiting set‑up”.
• Provide required materials and hardware (load board, probe card) as identified by the scheduler.
• Handle equipment such as trolleys and pushcarts safely when transporting lots.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards at all “Next lot Rack” locations.
• Report emergencies, absences, and any line problems to the supervisor.

• Ability to multi‑task while maintaining careful attention to detail.
• Proven success working both independently and within a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to follow written and verbal directions and read detailed work specifications.
• Excellent listening skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) processes.
• Knowledge of Electro‑Static Discharge (ESD) handling procedures.
• Basic handling of production hardware such as load boards and probe cards.
