About the role

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Operator 1 to support production lines at its facility in Calamba, Laguna. The role focuses on ensuring proper set‑up, isolation, and quality of hardware and equipment while adhering to environmental, quality and electrostatic discharge standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and isolate work stations, addressing minor set‑up issues.
• Support and implement the Environmental Management System (EMS), Quality Management System (QMS) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls.
• Handle hardware, equipment and products on the line, ensuring proper procedures.
• Maintain product quality, aiming for zero lot rejection and preventing quality issues.
• Report and escalate line problems to the supervisor and record vacation or sick leaves.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to multi‑task with careful attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills.
• Willingness to follow written and verbal directions and read detailed work specifications.
• Regular and predictable attendance; ability to wear required protective equipment.
• Basic computer, math and reading comprehension skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling.
• Familiarity with Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures.
• Understanding of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
