Operations Team Manager

About the role

The Operations Team Manager leads a multi‑site team to deliver high‑quality service while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and service level agreements. This role focuses on organizational effectiveness by providing leadership across core operational functions.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate resources, coordinate work, monitor progress and communicate priorities.
• Create an environment where timely, high‑quality information is readily available.
• Set clear performance expectations, develop performance plans and reward strong results.
• Provide monthly feedback on service, quality and productivity.
• Assess staff strengths, create development plans and deliver coaching.
• Leverage networks to exceed customer expectations and delegate authority.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement ideas.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations on cost‑reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Assist team members with complex or escalated cases.
• Support training initiatives with OJTs and L&D.

Required profile

• College degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years experience in a large business, with at least 2 years managing operations or projects.
• 3‑5 years experience in the annuity or financial services industry.
• Critical thinking and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of insurance operations, tax reporting and regulatory issues.
