Operations Supervisor (Ground & Area Operations)

About the role

DHL Express is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead daily ground and area operations, ensuring shipments move efficiently through the network while meeting transit time standards and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily ground and area operations activities, guaranteeing inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately and on time.
• Organize shift schedules and staffing levels to match operational demand.
• Oversee receipt, break‑bulk, inspection, and processing of incoming shipments.
• Manage outbound shipment dispatch, ensuring timely departure and uplift.
• Monitor operational performance, implement corrective actions, and drive productivity improvements.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, service centre managers, warehouse providers, airlines, freight forwarders, and ground handling agents.
• Ensure safe working practices and a safe environment across all shifts.
• Support quality‑assurance programs, including ISO compliance, and produce required operational and quality reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising ground or area logistics operations.
• Ability to organise shift schedules and manage staffing levels.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
• Commitment to safety standards and quality‑assurance processes.
• Analytical mindset to monitor performance metrics and implement improvements.
