Operational Risk Manager (Risk Officer)

About the role

The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the operational risk framework across the organization. This role ensures that risks are identified, assessed, reported and mitigated in line with the company’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance operational risk policies, procedures and governance structures.
• Partner with senior management to define risk appetite, limits and thresholds and embed them organization‑wide.
• Standardize risk assessment methodologies and terminology for consistent risk identification.
• Lead operational risk assessments, including RCSAs, scenario analysis, root‑cause analysis and emerging risk reviews.
• Collect and analyse operational loss and near‑miss data to drive mitigation strategies.
• Design, implement and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk limits.
• Collaborate with business units, IT, Information Security, HR, Procurement, Legal and BCM to ensure integrated risk management.
• Prepare and present operational risk reports and dashboards to senior management and the Board.
• Promote risk awareness through training, communications and risk workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, internal audit, compliance or related control functions.
• Proven experience developing risk frameworks, leading RCSAs and scenario analyses, and preparing Board‑level risk reports.
• Experience working in a regulated environment such as banking, financial services or insurance.
• Post‑graduate degree or professional certifications (e.g., PRM, CRM) are a plus.
