Night Dispatcher – GS Sea Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Night Dispatcher is a key member of Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team, responsible for coordinating after‑hours transportation operations. Working overnight, you ensure the safe, efficient, and timely movement of drivers, equipment, and freight across multiple time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and dispatch drivers during overnight and after‑hours shifts using dispatch and tracking systems.
• Track driver status, loads, arrivals, departures, and delays in real time.
• Communicate routing, assignment changes, and incident updates to drivers, terminals, and on‑call management.
• Respond to equipment issues, breakdowns, weather impacts, and service disruptions.
• Escalate emergencies, accidents, or critical issues to the appropriate management team.
• Maintain compliance with Hours‑of‑Service regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Update logs, dispatch notes, and operational records accurately.
• Coordinate with terminals, customers, vendors, and maintenance providers as needed.
• Provide shift hand‑off summaries to day‑time dispatch or operations teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar dispatch or logistics role.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to handle large volumes of data.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Independent, responsible, and persistent problem‑solver.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and support multi‑time‑zone operations.
