Network Engineer

About the role

RingCentral is looking for a Network Engineer in Manila to support the design, implementation, operation and improvement of its global corporate network infrastructure. The engineer ensures network services run reliably, securely and within design and performance specifications, taking part in upgrades, deployments, monitoring, capacity planning, performance analysis and troubleshooting, and working with senior engineers, IT operations teams, vendors and security teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation and operation of reliable, scalable enterprise networks for real-time services.
• Execute routine and planned network changes, service provisioning and infrastructure deployments.
• Troubleshoot network, application and connectivity issues, perform fault isolation, service recovery and incident analysis.
• Provide Level 2/Level 3 support to global IT teams and take part in escalations.
• Monitor network capacity, availability and performance, and identify improvement opportunities and risks.
• Work with vendors and service providers on circuit issues and incident resolution.
• Help evaluate new network technologies and tools, and share knowledge with other engineers and administrators.
• Develop and maintain network standards, procedures, diagrams and documentation.
• Contribute to automation and AI-enabled operational improvements, and take part in 24x7 on-call rotations.

Required profile

• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure architecture, network design and global operations.
• Experience supporting high-availability LAN, WAN, WLAN and Internet connectivity.
• Hands-on experience with multi-vendor network and security technologies such as Juniper, Cisco, Mist, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cato or Zscaler.
• Experience deploying AWS/GCP cloud architectures and setting up IT infrastructure for new sites.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• Preferred: industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, PCNSA, NSE or equivalent.

Required skills

• Core: IP routing (BGP, OSPF), IPv4, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN/WLAN, network security (firewalls, IPSec, VPNs), Linux preferred.
• Preferred: IPv6, real-time voice and video traffic, Linux, macOS and Windows administration, Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby or PHP.
• Preferred: network monitoring tools, packet capture tools, AWS networking, and server hardware and virtualization concepts.
