Monitoring & Evaluation Associate – Peacebuilding Projects

About the role
You will join UNDP’s peacebuilding team in Mindanao, supporting the Philippines to achieve the 2030 Agenda. Based in Cotabato City, the Monitoring & Evaluation Associate will work with the Project Manager to establish and operationalise the MEAL system for several peacebuilding initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Support planning, design and management of peacebuilding projects, including the Programme on Stabilisation, Peacebuilding and Resilience Phase 2, the Joint Programme on Empowering Women for Sustainable Peace, and the Preventing Violent Extremism project.
- Provide analysis and written outputs on project work, emerging issues and their impact on governance, conflict prevention, stabilisation and normalisation initiatives.
- Maintain and update the project’s monitoring and evaluation plan, develop M&E tools, and identify data sources and collection methods.
- Facilitate training and guidance for project staff and partners on the use of M&E tools, data collection and analysis procedures.
- Implement MEAL activities, prepare consolidated progress reports, and conduct field visits to gather change stories.
- Co‑design and support evaluation missions, data quality assessments and lessons‑learning workshops.
- Establish and operationalise feedback and response mechanisms, analysing feedback and ensuring timely action.
- Support risk monitoring, social and environmental safeguards, and maintain project risk logs.
- Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual project reports and organise monitoring missions with UNDP, government and donor representatives.
- Identify and consolidate lessons learned, contribute to knowledge‑management networks and liaise with the Communications Team for outreach materials.
Required profile
- Ability to work closely with local authorities, civil society organisations, UN agencies and other stakeholders.
- Experience in supporting MEAL initiatives and reporting on key outputs and results of development projects.
- Willingness to be based in Cotabato City and to travel for field visits and monitoring missions.
