Mechanical Engineer – Estimation & Drafting

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for industrial and fabrication projects, leveraging drafting expertise and strong communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost breakdowns for steel fabrication projects.
• Utilize AutoCAD and related software to extract information from technical drawings.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain up‑to‑date pricing and maintain pricing databases.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates reflect project requirements and timelines.
• Participate in project planning meetings, highlighting estimation accuracy and potential challenges.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or a related field.
• Proven experience in project estimation within industrial fabrication, preferably in the mining sector.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials and industry standards.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
