Materials Qualification Specialist

About the role

The Materials Qualification Specialist ensures that all raw materials used by the company meet regulatory, statutory and quality standards. The role also supports the qualification of alternative materials that can replace existing ones without compromising product functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update Raw Material Specification Sheets (RMSS) to reflect current certifications, regulatory changes and technical data.
• Collaborate with QA, Procurement and external laboratories to review technical documents, conduct physico‑chemical, microbiological and sensory tests, and assess risk.
• Perform product application trials and sensory evaluations for alternative materials, and monitor trial batch performance.
• Prepare qualification reports, risk assessments and updated specification sheets for approved alternatives.
• Process purchase orders, calibration requests and third‑party testing, and ensure compliance with internal manuals and procedures.
• Support internal and external inquiries, provide technical assistance on material quality, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate in Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field.
• Minimum one year of experience in product application, sensory evaluation or material testing.
• Familiarity with regulatory and statutory requirements for food‑related raw materials.
