Manufacturing Technician I

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to join Microchip Technology’s production team. The role focuses on setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure high‑quality output and efficient cycle times.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conversion set‑up and buy‑off of machines and equipment for production needs.
• Execute routine and preventive maintenance on strip test equipment and other assigned machines.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, implement corrective actions, and record all work performed.
• Maintain accurate equipment utilization data, including spare parts usage.
• Lead equipment improvement projects to enhance capability and reliability.
• Ensure 5S compliance and adhere to standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize downtime.

Required profile

• Technical or associate degree in electronics, mechanical, electrical, computer engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in equipment maintenance or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret machine diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of test handler and tester machines is an advantage.
• Commitment to precision work and safety protocol compliance.
