Level 1 Security Analyst

About the role

iSupport Worldwide is seeking a motivated Level 1 Security Analyst to join its cybersecurity team. You will work with modern security tools to monitor, detect, and respond to threats across client environments, providing the first line of defense against attacks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor network activity, event logs, and security tools to identify potential threats.
• Analyze and triage alerts generated by SIEM platforms.
• Respond to and escalate security incidents following established procedures.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours security events.
• Investigate incidents, document findings, and recommend remediation actions.
• Maintain accurate records of monitoring, investigations, and response activities.
• Identify and assess vulnerabilities, support patch management and remediation efforts.
• Investigate phishing incidents and assist with phishing simulation campaigns.
• Support security awareness communications and develop runbooks, procedures, and standards.
• Stay updated on emerging threats, trends, and technologies and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g., QRadar, LogRhythm, Rapid7, AlienVault).
• Experience analyzing logs, network data, and security alerts.
• Basic understanding of threat‑hunting concepts.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, ports, protocols, and the OSI model.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management and patch deployment processes.
• Experience working in Linux environments (Ubuntu, Kali Linux).
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python or similar) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
