Legal Officer – Corporate Advisory

About the role

The Corporate Advisory Department of Metrobank is seeking a Legal Officer to provide comprehensive legal support across the bank’s units and branches. You will ensure that all transactions, operations, and documentation comply with applicable laws and protect the bank’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with head‑office units, branches, and external agencies to gather information and documents required for legal proceedings, recordation, or legal opinions.
• Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, forms, memos, letters, and internal policies to ensure legal compliance.
• Provide legal opinions, advice, and assistance on issues raised by various bank units and branches.
• Supervise assigned legal assistants and departmental staff.
• Propose policies and internal guidelines for efficient banking documentation and handling of legal matters.
• Prepare reports for bank units, branches, and senior management as needed.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.

Required profile

• Registered lawyer.
• Strong exposure as a corporate lawyer.
• Banking experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Legal drafting and contract review.
• Legal research and opinion writing.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
