Legal Counsel – Global Business Services

About the role

Orica is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Global Business Services team in the Philippines. In this hybrid role you will support the review, assessment and management of commercial contracts across Orica’s worldwide operations, helping the business operate with confidence and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Review a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements, confidentiality agreements, service level agreements, variation agreements, collaboration agreements, R&D agreements and settlement deeds.
• Identify contractual risks and deviations from approved templates and standards, and provide practical, timely advice to business stakeholders globally.
• Ensure contracts align with Orica’s approved templates, policies and governance requirements, escalating deviations for appropriate approval.
• Support the maintenance and improvement of legal templates and contract‑management practices.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple regions and functions, delivering commercially focused advice that balances legal risk with operational outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives, including the use of technology and AI‑enabled tools to drive efficiency and consistency.

Required profile

• A tertiary qualification in Law.
• Proven experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts in a corporate environment.
