Lead Accountant (EMEA)

About the role

Eucalyptus, a consumer healthcare platform, is expanding across its EMEA region and is looking for a Lead Accountant to build the EMEA accounting function from the ground up. The role is based in the Philippines, working directly alongside the UK-based finance lead and the global team, with EMEA hours and about 4 hours of APAC overlap. It is described as a foundational, high-impact hire.

Key responsibilities

• Own hands-on accounting work across reconciliations, journal entries and bookings for EMEA entities
• Support the accounting setup and ongoing operations for new market launches
• Bridge time zones between the APAC and EMEA teams, ensuring continuity across regions
• Mentor and share knowledge with the Philippines-based accounting team
• Build processes from scratch and improve existing ones as the business grows
• Work closely with the Senior Managers for Accounting and Financial Control in Australia and the UK and the broader GL team

Required profile

• 8+ years of accounting experience with clear progression into more complex roles
• CPA or CA qualification
• International or offshore accounting experience, ideally in a global shared services environment, with exposure to EMEA accounting
• Comfortable with EMEA hours, ideally having done something similar before
• A builder's mindset, able to navigate ambiguity and informally lead and mentor without a formal management mandate

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, general ledger management and bookings
• Experience in an international shared services centre
• Big Four experience is welcome but not required
