Junior Systems Engineer (3rd Shift)

About the role

Veson Nautical is looking for a Junior Systems Engineer to join its global IT team on a fixed third‑shift schedule. Based in Manila, you will support users across the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions during US business hours, working closely with the UK infrastructure team. This role offers the chance to manage real‑world IT systems in a fast‑growing maritime software company.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain server hardware, operating systems and software.
• Ensure system stability, security and data integrity; respond promptly to outages and incidents.
• Act as an escalation point for End User Services on complex tickets.
• Collaborate with business teams to identify system needs and deliver upgrades.
• Provide independent IT coverage during US business hours and coordinate hand‑offs with the UK team.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Systems or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical users.
• Willingness to work US business hours after an initial 4–6 week training period on UK hours.

Required skills

• Operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux.
• Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Cloud Suite (Entra ID, Exchange, Defender, etc.).
• Google Workspace.
• Atlassian Cloud tools (Jira, Confluence).
• GitLab administration (permissions, tokens, repos, CI/CD).
• Hosting platforms: Hyper‑V, Azure, AWS.
• Endpoint management: Intune, JAMF.
• Scripting and automation: Terraform, PowerShell.
• Certificate management (SSL, authentication).
• Basic understanding of ITIL or similar service‑management frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Security+ are preferred.
