Junior Preconstruction / Bid Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and organized individual to support the pre‑construction, bidding and subcontractor coordination processes for multiple ground‑up development projects, including multifamily and mixed‑use assets in the Yonkers and Orange areas. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience and mentorship from ownership and development management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assembling and organizing project budgets.
• Issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate bidding efforts across 40+ construction trades.
• Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely receipt of bids.
• Manage bidder questions and communicate with architects, engineers, interior designers and consultants.
• Organize and track Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Maintain bid logs, proposal tracking and procurement spreadsheets.
• Create Excel‑based bid‑leveling sheets to compare subcontractor proposals.
• Identify scope differences, exclusions and pricing gaps between bids.
• Organize project documents, plans and subcontractor correspondence.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of construction drawings and plans.
• Strong communication and follow‑up abilities.
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Exposure to construction, estimating, architecture, engineering or real‑estate development is a plus.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate proficiency).
