Junior Associate General Counsel – Land Management

About the role

The Junior Associate General Counsel will join Aboitiz Foods' Legal and Compliance team in the Philippines, focusing on land‑related legal matters. This role supports the company’s strategic objectives by applying legal principles to property acquisition, land use reclassification, and related contractual activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review titles, tax declarations, and government certifications for properties the company intends to acquire.
• Provide legal opinions and summarize risks associated with potential property purchases.
• Recommend risk‑mitigation measures to the Farms Project Team and senior management.
• Assist in drafting and negotiating contracts for property sales.
• Oversee reclassification and conversion of acquired properties to ensure appropriate land use.
• Prepare and review documents submitted to government agencies for land‑use applications.
• Manage issuance of owners’ certificates of title for newly acquired properties.
• Maintain documentation that supports registration of acquired land.
• Build and sustain relationships with key government stakeholders involved in land conversion and registration.
• Ensure the company is protected from potential liabilities within board‑approved limits.
