Jr./Sr. Backend Programmer (We Provide Training!)

About the role

Kooapps is looking for motivated backend programmers to join its game development team. Selected candidates will start with a six‑month paid intensive training program designed to build solid backend engineering skills.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend APIs that interact efficiently with databases.
• Ensure server stability, performance, and scalability.
• Create internal tools that support cross‑functional team operations.
• Write clean, well‑structured code following best‑in‑class engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with Game Design, Art, QA, Product Management, and Data teams to deliver polished games.
• Occasionally assist with website development tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
• Passion for software development and gaming.
• Self‑motivated problem‑solver with strong English communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Makati, Monday to Saturday.
• Open to both entry‑level graduates and experienced candidates.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PHP.
• Experience with MySQL or NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Familiarity with C#, C/C++, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Basic understanding of full‑stack development, focusing on backend technologies.
• Optional: familiarity with Unity3D, iOS/Android development, and general app development.
