Java Software Engineer

About the role

The Java Engineer designs, develops, and maintains robust Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that enable seamless communication between software systems. This role focuses on building efficient, scalable, and secure interfaces while collaborating closely with product teams to translate requirements into high‑quality API solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of API solutions that streamline and improve SBC’s operations and products.
• Produce high‑quality code that adheres to engineering standards and best practices.
• Implement performance improvement measures to deliver best‑in‑class services.
• Contribute to performance optimization efforts for API services.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of RESTful API architectural principles, including HTTP methods, status codes, and resource design.
• Ability to model and structure data logically, define relationships, and ensure data integrity.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth, API keys, JWT, and role‑based access control (RBAC).
• Proficiency in documenting APIs clearly for consumers.
• Capability to design performant and scalable APIs that handle high request volumes with minimal response times.
