Java Engineer for Wholesale Lending Technology

About the role

ING is looking for a Java Engineer to join its Wholesale Banking Technology Lending COI 2 team. You will design, build and support business‑critical applications that enable the Wholesale Lending business, collaborating with engineers in Manila, the Netherlands and other global locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance Java‑based applications supporting Wholesale Lending.
• Build scalable, secure and resilient RESTful microservices using modern engineering practices.
• Support the full application lifecycle, from delivery to deployment.
• Research and propose innovative technologies and solutions.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Java 8 (knowledge of Java 11+ is a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Batch and Hibernate.
• Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, microservices architecture, scalability and distributed systems.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
