IT System Engineer

About the role

Thales is seeking an IT System Engineer to join its Philippines team in Calamba. The role focuses on maintaining and improving IT infrastructure, ensuring security, availability, and performance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot overall IT installations and upgrades.
• Respond to general IT service requests.
• Ensure security software is kept up to date.
• Maintain IT security, availability, speed and reliability.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience in computer engineering or software development with full‑lifecycle, hardware/software analysis, and platform or network development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multi‑disciplined, diverse environment.
• Analytical, resourceful, structured problem‑solver with a focus on continuous improvement and teaching.

Required skills

• General OS systems and enterprise software.
• Programming and scripting languages: C, Python, Java, Bash, PowerShell.
• Office software.
• Database and networking security systems.
• LAN, wireless, WAN technologies (e.g., DWDM, SONET, ATM, MSPP).
• Storage and cloud computing technologies.
• Test and configuration tools.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP or VMware VMC (IaaS).
• Basic coding in PowerShell, REST, YAML and Java.
• Solid networking knowledge including routing, switching and overlay.
• Software firewall configuration for guest and platform environments.
