Intermediate to Senior Architectural Drafter

About the role

Hunt St helps Australian companies hire remote talent in the Philippines. Its client is an established Australian residential home builder, and the role is an intermediate to senior architectural drafter working fully remotely. You will produce accurate architectural drawings and documentation from concept through to building approval and construction, working with councils, certifiers, engineers and other consultants. The engagement is as an independent contractor, with a monthly compensation of $2,000-$2,300 AUD, and you should align with Australian business hours (about 9am-6pm, Mon-Fri).

Key responsibilities

• Monitor weekly workflow, prioritise tasks and track project progress.
• Produce working drawings from concept sketches through to tender, contract, building approval, DA and construction documentation.
• Prepare site, earthworks, retaining, floor, roof, elevations, sections, schedules, facades, kitchens, bathrooms, slabs, electrical, landscape, structural, stormwater, 3D models and other drawings.
• Update plans and documentation after approved variations and project changes.
• Liaise with councils, certifiers, planners, engineers and surveyors and manage building approval processes.
• Maintain standard construction details, detail registries, master drawings and ArchiCAD documentation libraries.
• Check designs against building codes and regulations, run quality checks and escalate risks.
• Improve drafting systems with the Design and Drafting Manager and support the CRM team with 3D walkthroughs when needed.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of Australian residential drafting experience (Queensland strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials and detailing.
• Ability to manage several projects and meet deadlines remotely.

Required skills

• ArchiCAD, or willingness to learn it (training offered to exceptional candidates).
• Experience producing architectural working drawings and construction documentation.
• Attention to detail and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
