Information Security Technician

About the role

MicroSourcing is looking for an Information Security Technician to join its remote team in the Philippines. You will protect client environments by monitoring threats, investigating incidents, and driving proactive security measures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and handle Email Phishing Alerts, Business Email Compromise incidents, SIEM alerts, and Endpoint Detection and Response alerts, escalating as needed.
• Lead security incident investigations, including evidence collection, root‑cause analysis, and impact assessment.
• Develop, maintain, and execute incident response playbooks for timely threat mitigation.
• Conduct proactive threat‑hunting activities to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to communicate findings, recommendations, and incident updates.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT Security Operations, preferably in a Managed Services Provider environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Barracuda, and Proofpoint.
• Proven experience with SIEM, EDR, and MDR tools for detection and response.
• Solid understanding of incident response methodologies, cyber‑security frameworks, and digital forensics.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to varied audiences.
