Head of Financial Reporting

About the role

The Head of Financial Reporting will lead the financial reporting function for a leading telecommunications, technology and digital services organisation in Port Moresby. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy and compliance of all financial information and will partner with senior stakeholders to drive informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Oversee general ledger integrity, balance‑sheet reconciliations and the full financial close cycle.
• Manage statutory reporting, tax compliance and external audit engagements.
• Develop and enhance financial controls, governance frameworks and risk‑management practices.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex issues to senior management.
• Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives to increase efficiency and reporting quality.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing financial accounting team.

Required profile

• CPA or CA qualification with at least 8 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven experience leading financial reporting in a large, complex organisation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage audits, taxation and internal controls.
• Advanced analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
