Head of Financial Accounting

About the role

The Head of Financial Accounting leads the finance function for Manulife Philippines and its subsidiaries, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all financial reporting. This senior position is responsible for delivering timely financial statements, overseeing regulatory compliance, and maintaining a strong control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with PFRS, IFRS and local GAAP.
• Lead balance‑sheet account reconciliations, enforce standards and resolve variances across functions.
• Manage the transition from PFRS 4 to IFRS 17, coordinating with actuarial and investment teams.
• Submit accurate regulatory reports to the Insurance Commission, SEC, BSP, BIR and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the year‑end statutory audit, act as primary liaison with external auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit issues.
• Support tax audit activities, including FS‑ITR reconciliation and premium tax compliance.
• Collaborate with HR, IT, Risk, Compliance and other departments to improve finance processes and systems.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in financial accounting or reporting within a large insurance or financial services organization.
• Deep knowledge of Philippine accounting standards (PFRS) and international standards (IFRS).
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex audits, regulatory filings and multi‑entity consolidations.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and control.
