Government Accountant (Remote, Philippines)

About the role

CKH Group seeks a full‑time Government Accountant based in the Philippines to support a national finance ministry funded by a multilateral development bank. The engagement lasts 12‑14 months, using Bisan ERP and U.S. governmental accounting standards (GASB).

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile general‑ledger balances in Bisan with bank statements, subsidiary ledgers and third‑party data, documenting each reconciliation.
• Clear back‑logged monthly and year‑end reconciliations, research items and draft adjusting journal entries for client approval.
• Produce a reconciled year‑end trial balance for financial‑statement preparation and audit.
• Assist government‑owned entities in reconciling open balances across multiple fiscal years.
• Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries and pull reports using Bisan’s modules.
• Train client staff on journal entries, reconciliations and reporting in Bisan.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience with Bisan ERP financial modules.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience under U.S. GAAP, including work for U.S.‑based clients or offshore teams.
• Working knowledge of GASB fund accounting, governmental and proprietary funds, inter‑fund balances and component units.
• Demonstrated ability to clear reconciliation backlogs and resolve aged balances.
• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliation templates).
• Fluent written and spoken English and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
