Geotechnical Project Inspector – Powerhouse (Pakil)

About the role

The Project Inspector (Geotechnical) will support the execution of dam and hydropower works at the Powerhouse (Pakil) site. The role is field‑focused, ensuring that earthworks, shaft excavation, dewatering and diaphragm wall activities are carried out safely and in line with approved designs and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement project‑specific HSE requirements for shaft excavation, earthworks, dewatering, ground treatment and diaphragm wall construction.
• Identify and control geotechnical hazards such as confined spaces, groundwater, instability and blasting.
• Coordinate with HSE officers, contractors and resident engineers on safety controls and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Inspect and verify compliance of shaft excavation, supports, earthworks, ground treatment, dewatering and diaphragm wall works against drawings, specifications and standards.
• Monitor contractor performance, workmanship quality and geotechnical performance; raise non‑conformances and recommend corrective actions.
• Witness testing, conduct inspections, and prepare daily/weekly inspection reports, NCRs and corrective action logs.
• Participate in site safety orientations, toolbox meetings and progress coordination meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hydropower or large‑scale underground infrastructure projects.
• At least 3–5 years of direct geotechnical and civil experience in construction supervision or inspection of power‑station shafts, access shafts or underground caverns.
• Proven ability to work on‑site, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
