Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA is looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the South Commuter Railway Project in Manila. The role will support the design and construction of critical railway infrastructure, ensuring safe and sustainable ground conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations, including drilling, sampling and laboratory testing of soils and rocks.
• Develop foundation designs (shallow, deep piles, etc.) based on geotechnical data.
• Perform slope stability analyses to prevent landslides and ground failure.
• Oversee earthworks and excavation activities, ensuring safe digging and back‑filling.
• Implement ground improvement methods such as compaction and grouting.
• Carry out seismic analyses, including assessment of liquefaction potential.
• Design retaining structures and support systems.
• Execute geotechnical design tasks as directed by the Project Director and Technical Design Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years of geotechnical experience, or a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering with 5 + years of experience.
• Successful completion of the Civil Engineering licensure examination.
• Proven ability to work on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
