General Ledger Accountant - Associate

About the role

ISS STOXX is looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join its Finance Team in Makati City. The role ensures the accuracy, completeness and timely recording of general accounting transactions on or before period close.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the monthly accrual working file and record journal entries in SAP, such as market data, consultancy, IT and marketing expenses
• Review expense and balance sheet accounts and prepare reclassifications before period close
• Explain significant variances between the current and previous periods
• Post and clear open cash daily, and coordinate with Cash App, Treasury, Tax and Accounts Payable
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, resolving outstanding items within a month
• Approve invoices weekly and review tax code, GL code, legal entity, address, currency and amount
• Assist with audit requirements, maintain strong internal controls and support process improvements in GL and reporting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
• CPA preferred but not required
• Attention to detail, strong analytical ability and diligence
• Organized, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines
• Amenable to a hybrid setup (3 days onsite, 2 days from home) and a schedule of 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with possible extension during month-end close

Required skills

• SAP (S/4HANA) or another ERP system is a must
• Advanced MS Excel and working knowledge of other MS Office applications
