Sustainability Research Analyst (Diverse Sectors)

About the role

ISS STOXX is looking for Research Analysts to join its Sustainability Research Corporate Ratings team in Manila. The role covers ESG data collection and analysis across Energy, Materials & Utilities, Technology, Media & Telecom, Consumer Financials & Real Estate and Industrials. Analysts evaluate companies' sustainability performance using proprietary methodologies, reviewing sustainability reports, annual reports and corporate websites.

Key responsibilities

• Gather ESG data systematically from company disclosures and process and analyse it according to ISS STOXX Sustainability methodology
• Take ownership of production targets and deliver research within timelines and quality standards
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders so production is on time without compromising quality
• Specialise in one or more industries, tracking and monitoring key ESG trends and developments
• Support the ratings team through thought leadership, research publications, methodology reviews and ESG market monitoring, and suggest new data sources
• Act as a process expert: tutor colleagues and run sector-specific training
• Take part in quality assurance, review other analysts' sustainability reports and run regular quality data checks

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in sustainability, financial services, ESG research, credit ratings, sustainability think tanks or academic research
• Bachelor's or master's degree; a degree in sustainability, development studies, environmental science or international human rights is desirable, as is an MBA with a sustainability concentration
• Knowledge of oil, gas, energy, wastewater management, engineering and construction, financial services, FMCG and media and telecommunications is preferred
