Fundraising Content Officer

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) seeks a Fundraising Content Officer to create compelling donor‑focused materials that support its humanitarian mission. You will work closely with subject‑matter experts, delegations and the Fundraising Publication team to produce written, audio‑visual and event collateral that attracts, acquires and retains donor funding.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and package emergency, thematic and context‑specific fundraising assets, including appeals, proposals, briefing documents and reports.
• Maintain up‑to‑date financial and non‑financial information on assigned programmes, contexts or thematic files.
• Source information from internal tools, coordinate with experts, and ensure content aligns with ICRC policies and donor requirements.
• Adapt narratives and presentations to meet the expectations of target donor audiences.
• Lead projects that produce tailored content packages for specific donors or priority themes.
• Support emergency fundraising by delivering timely updates and appeals.
• Coach and onboard new Fundraising Content Officers as needed.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of humanitarian fundraising and donor engagement.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple locations.
• Attention to detail and capacity to manage several projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in drafting and editing fundraising content.
• Experience coordinating content production with subject‑matter experts.
• Familiarity with audio‑visual content creation processes.
