Frontend Engineer (React / Next.js)

About the role

You'll build the interfaces and shared component library that power multiple Salmon products, focusing on performance, accessibility, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Work across a shared design system, theming, and localization layer used by multiple product teams.
• Collaborate closely with design, backend, and platform teams to ship user‑facing features end‑to‑end.
• Operate in a codebase with generated API typings, CI/CD pipelines, and active error monitoring and analytics.
• Build and maintain user interfaces in React and Next.js across multiple products.
• Create reusable UI components and contribute to the shared component library.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs using generated typings.
• Optimize rendering performance and bundle size to improve user experience.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to protect product reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and help evolve frontend best practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of Next.js fundamentals, including routing, SSR, ISR, and data fetching.
• Proficiency in modern state management using Redux Toolkit and RTK Query.
• Experience with component‑driven development and design‑system principles.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack and Vite and CI/CD fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to optimise web performance and write comprehensive tests.
