Front-End Web Developer (WordPress Migration)

About the role

Smart Suites manages more than 100 short-term rentals in Queensland, Australia, and wants to move its website from Lodgify to WordPress. It is hiring an experienced, independent contractor Front-End Web Developer to rebuild the site, integrate the Mews booking widget, preserve SEO and hand it over. The project is remote, based in the Philippines, with a budget of AUD $2,000 subject to discussion.

Key responsibilities

• Migrate the website from Lodgify to WordPress, rebuild pages and content, use Elementor or another approved builder, and minimize downtime.
• Develop responsive pages with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, compatible with Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox.
• Integrate and test the Mews booking widget, coordinating with Mews support when needed.
• Build enquiry, newsletter and lead-capture forms, set up SMTP and test email workflows.
• Audit and migrate SEO: preserve URLs, set up 301 redirects, transfer metadata, generate an XML sitemap and configure Google Analytics, Search Console and Tag Manager.
• Optimize performance, security and accessibility, and configure hosting, DNS, SSL and CDN services.
• Run functional, responsive and cross-browser tests, write documentation and hand over to the client.

Required profile

• 2-4 years of professional web development experience.
• Demonstrated experience migrating websites between platforms and CMSs.
• Ability to work independently against agreed milestones, with good written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and responsive front-end development.
• WordPress and Elementor or a similar page builder.
• Technical and on-page SEO migration, API and booking widget integration.
• Preferred: hospitality/accommodation sites, Mews/Lodgify, Google Analytics/Search Console/Tag Manager, Core Web Vitals, staging environments, basic PHP.
