Food Assistant – Kitchen (Full-Time)

About the role

The Food Assistant works in the IKEA kitchen to create a welcoming atmosphere where customers can enjoy tasty food offerings. Reporting to the Kitchen Production Manager, the role focuses on delivering excellent service, encouraging longer store visits, and building customer loyalty.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present food items according to IKEA standards and safety regulations.
• Engage with customers, answer questions about menu items, and promote food offers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Monitor top‑selling products, support range changes, and contribute to in‑store promotional activities.
• Follow internal policies, operational routines, and Functional Commercial Review standards.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience as a line cook or in a similar restaurant/food‑service role.
• Passionate about food, sales‑driven, and customer‑focused.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Flexible, open to change, and able to take personal initiative.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office.
