Food Assistant (Kitchen) – Full-Time

About the role

The Food Assistant works in the IKEA kitchen, welcoming visitors and encouraging them to stay longer by offering tasty food in a friendly atmosphere. Reporting to the Kitchen Production Manager, the role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while supporting store sales and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Engage customers, promote food offers and create a welcoming environment.
• Maintain product knowledge, including origins and benefits, and share it with guests and colleagues.
• Support sales by monitoring top‑selling items, preparing the area, and contributing to in‑store activities.
• Follow internal policies, daily routines, and Functional Commercial Review standards.
• Adapt work hours to store needs, including weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Sales‑driven and passionate about food and people.
• Experience in food management or the food industry, with willingness to learn new skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Service‑oriented, customer‑focused, and flexible.
• Good communication, interpersonal and detail‑oriented abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
