Financial Controller – Remote Contractor (Australia Hours)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Financial Controller to support a fast‑growing, founder‑led business that operates across ecommerce, digital media, and brand studio services. This remote, independent‑contractor position works on Australian business hours and reports directly to the CEO, helping to maintain financial visibility and operational control across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end bookkeeping and financial administration for two business entities.
• Handle client invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure audit‑ready records.
• Prepare financial data for accountants and tax compliance.
• Track cash flow, forecast budgets, and produce regular financial reports.
• Support ecommerce finance functions, including inventory tracking and COGS analysis.

Required profile

• Highly autonomous and detail‑oriented.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, founder‑led environment.
• Strong operational thinking with the ability to own processes.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple systems.
