Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead month‑end close operations, ensure accurate financial reporting and drive process improvements. This role works closely with technology and finance teams to maintain robust controls and support company initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end close finance operations, including checking transactions, payments, and account reconciliations.
• Identify and execute improvements or automation of month‑end close processes.
• Identify control gaps and implement key controls where necessary.
• Ensure all processes and controls are adequately documented.
• Liaise with the Technology team to log and resolve accounting system issues promptly.
• Provide accounting guidance on relevant topics and update accounting papers as needed.
• Participate in ad‑hoc tasks and projects supporting department or company initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• Familiarity with credit and loan products.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a company performing investment‑banking functions.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial statements.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Computer and internet proficient.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver high‑quality output.
• Highly organized with strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities.
• Proactive, motivated, detail‑oriented team player familiar with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and metrics.
