Financial Controller

About the role

Next Staffing Group is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a fast‑growing laboratory and research client that develops innovative hair‑care products. This is a 100% remote, senior‑level position supporting a US‑based organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor the entire accounting and finance team, ensuring professional development and high performance.
• Maintain hands‑on control of the General Ledger, creating and reviewing journal entries from basic accruals to complex adjustments.
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes and prepare financial statements in full compliance with US GAAP.
• Drive annual budgeting, ongoing forecasting and deep‑dive variance analysis to provide actionable insights to executives.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll operations.
• Act as primary liaison for external audits, tax filings and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with R&D management to analyze laboratory costs, identify savings and improve profitability.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 + years of progressive accounting experience with expert knowledge of journal entries.
• 3–5 years of proven leadership experience managing finance teams.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience preparing financial statements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
