Finance Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead and safeguard the financial operations of a subsidiary within the Unioil Group, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and strategic financial guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with PFRS and regulatory requirements.
• Manage general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and consolidate financial data across business units.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modeling for major business decisions.
• Ensure full compliance with BIR tax obligations, SEC/PEZA reporting and other regulatory requirements.
• Design and improve internal control frameworks, assess risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team while acting as a strategic partner to business unit heads and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or related field; CPA license required.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive finance management experience, preferably in petroleum, energy or distribution.
• Proven experience with full‑cycle accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and external audit coordination.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and BIR regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced financial modeling and Excel proficiency.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management and audit methodologies.
