Field Credit Investigation Officer

About the role

The Field Credit Investigation Officer conducts on‑site investigations to verify the creditworthiness of loan applicants. Working directly in the community, the officer assesses personal and business information, evaluates the five Cs of credit, and provides risk‑based recommendations to the underwriting team.

Key responsibilities

• Visit applicants’ residences, businesses, and reference locations to gather first‑hand information.
• Interview applicants and third parties to confirm employment, business operations, financial status, and personal character.
• Assess Character, Capacity, Capital, Conditions, and Collateral for each loan request.
• Inspect pledged collaterals, verify ownership, and evaluate marketability.
• Collect photos, GPS coordinates, and supporting documents during field visits.
• Prepare detailed credit investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
• Coordinate with the credit underwriting team to provide updates and clarify any issues.
• Monitor document authenticity and detect potential fraud.
• Ensure compliance with data‑privacy, ethical investigation standards, and institutional policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Criminology, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in credit investigation, field verification, or loan processing.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
• High integrity, discretion, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with local geography and communities is a plus.
