Failure Analysis Engineer

About the role

Join the Advanced Lifetime Technology Assessment Reliability team to evaluate and improve the reliability of new drivetrain power module products for electric vehicles. You will work in a multicultural, cross‑functional engineering environment, applying AQG324 power‑cycle stress strategies and supporting various reliability operations.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, assemble, and debug power‑cycle test systems and fluid delivery cooling systems for lifetime assessment.
• Perform device failure characterization, limited package failure analysis, and generate stress reports for distribution and archival.
• Collaborate with New Product Development, Advanced Packaging Reliability, and Applications engineers to support Look‑Ahead Reliability and qualification of ON Semiconductor power modules.
• Execute MTP Reliability activities such as PCT, HTRB, HTGB, SCIS, UIS and related data collection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s in EE/ET/EMET with 10+ years in power semiconductors, or Master’s with 5+ years in the semiconductor industry.
• Laboratory experience with power semiconductor products (IGBT, Diode, MOSFET).
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills in English.

Required skills

• High‑current analog circuit design.
• NI LabVIEW for complex software applications.
• AutoCAD for design documentation.
• Device and package failure analysis techniques.
• Power and thermal calculations, including high‑current power delivery (50 A‑2000 A).
• Embedded control system development.
