Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Facilities Engineer will ensure that all mechanical systems in our optics manufacturing plant meet industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws. You will lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams, and manage external contractors to keep the facility operating at peak performance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, local building codes, and cleanroom standards (ISO, SEMI).
• Develop and oversee preventive/predictive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and specialized optical manufacturing equipment.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and scopes of work for repairs, upgrades, and new installations.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and service providers while maintaining EHS standards.
• Monitor and report on department budget, system performance, and audit compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a valid PRC license.
• 4‑6 years hands‑on experience in facilities or mechanical engineering, preferably in semiconductor or electronics environments.
• Knowledge of cleanroom standards, quality and sustainability management systems, and relevant codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA).
• Experience leading small‑to‑medium projects; Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.

Required skills

• HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems.
• Mechanical components: shafts, bearings, seals, chain/belt drives, gear systems.
• Material handling: fans, blowers, compressors, boilers, centrifugal and magnetic pumps, process tanks with agitators.
• Hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems.
• Compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, ISO cleanroom, and SEMI standards.
• Lean Six Sigma methodology.
