Executive Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an Executive Legal Counsel to work directly with a senior principal, providing high‑level legal advice and support. The role places you in the decision‑making arena, where you will prepare briefings, advise on legal risks, and accompany the principal to government and corporate engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive briefing materials before meetings, outlining legal risks, talking points, strategic recommendations, and anticipated questions.
• Track post‑meeting action items and deadlines to ensure follow‑through.
• Conduct legal research on complex issues, draft legal opinions, and monitor new legislation and regulatory developments.
• Act as a government liaison, accompanying the principal to engagements with agencies, Congress, regulators, and other public institutions.
• Coordinate with government officials, stakeholders, and external partners professionally.
• Oversee firm matters by monitoring active cases and following up with associates and partners as needed.
• Draft legal opinions, position papers, memos, letters, proposals, presentations, and coordinate research teams.
• Collaborate closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure the principal is fully prepared for meetings and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Philippine Bar.
• 2–6 years of legal practice experience.
• Articulate communicator with a professional, polished demeanor.
• Politically aware, exercising sound judgment in interactions with senior officials and executives.
• Proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Loyal, dependable, and committed to long‑term growth within the organization.

Required skills

• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities.
• Experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, government transactions, procurement, legislative work, regulatory agencies, commercial contracts, or corporate governance.
