Equipment Technician – Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

The Equipment Technician will support the Equipment Engineer in assembling, setting up and qualifying machines and stations used in semiconductor and related high‑tech manufacturing. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, ensuring proper documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement of equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Equipment Engineer during assembly, set‑up and qualification of machines and stations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine and station malfunctions to reduce downtime.
• Assist in buy‑off, installation and commissioning of equipment, fixtures and peripherals.
• Generate and maintain machine and station documentation.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and support station upkeep.
• Support design and development of new hardware and software stations.
• Implement machine and station improvements.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in semiconductor, electrical, electronics, optoelectronics or fiber‑optics industry in a similar function.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings and diagrams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a hands‑on attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Object‑oriented programming languages: C/C++, Visual Basic, LabVIEW.
• Equipment communication interfaces: GPIB, RS232, USB.
• Proficiency with MS Office and other computer software (statistical software, simulation tools, MES, ERP, documentation control).
