Equipment Technician IV

About the role

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Equipment Technician IV to ensure production equipment runs smoothly and meets quality standards. The role supports daily operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement on the assembly line.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily shift reports to the Equipment Engineer.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and repair machines used for QFN, TQFP, and SOIC package assembly.
• Maintain equipment availability, perform preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration updates.
• Collaborate with operators and engineering to resolve machine‑related quality issues.
• Record downtime and uptime using the R7/R8 reporting system.
• Participate in AM‑PM programs, 5S initiatives, and maintain housekeeping in production and maintenance areas.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assembly Line Sustaining Technician.
• Hands‑on experience with equipment for Backgrind, Wafer Saw, Die Attach, Wire Bonding, molding, plating, marking, and packing.
• Familiarity with TS16949, HSPM quality systems and failure‑analysis techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage workload, multitask, and respond to off‑hours calls.
